About me TUESDAY (better late than never) ;)

Before I begin to answer the questions, I wanted to let you all know that I had my endoscopy, EKG, blood work and ultrasounds over the weekend. Everything went really well, the endoscopy was fun... they knocked me out completly (love, LOVE general anesthesia!), and everything else was easy. The nurse actually thanked me for not complaining at all while taking blood samples.
I also got my results from the sleep study program; I have "Mild obstructive sleep apnea", I guess. I know that they exagerate everything a little more so that it will pass with insurance. I mean, I know I snore, but I don't wake up throughout the night and I don't wake up tired. But I'll take it ;) I have a 2nd sleep study I have to do at the end of the month.

On to something fun....

1. Does your family/friends know about your blog?Naaah. The only person that even knows about my surgery is my husband. I'm really close with my mom, but she has a biiiiiiiiig mouth and just can't hold secrets sadly. So no.

2. What is your favorite card game?
Dumb question. Next...

3. What do you wear to bed?

Usually just a t-shirt and undies, but since it's getting cooler here in SD, a t-shirt and pajama pants.

4. What is your favorite kind of French Fry?
If the card game questions was dumb, then this one is just stupid. Fat girl question for sure, haha. But, okay, curly fries.

5. What is your usual bed time?
I work early, so I like to sleep early. I like to be in bed by 10-10:30pm, and sleeping by 11pm.

Take care everyone!!! See you next Blog ;)

Nothing really to write, but here's some more about me.....

Hi ! I haven't written because not much has been going on. I had my sleep study last week and my results came in, I keep forgetting to call the doctor to hear what they are. I don't think I have "sleep apnea", but I know I snore because my husband never forgets to let me know, hehe.
Tomorrow I have my EKG and Endoscopy along with a bunch of other mandatory lab tests and x-rays and ultrasounds. At least I'll get them all done with on one day though. I'll let you know how those were.

Don't be shy ;)

Good morningggggggg!!

It's a beautiful day and it's going to rain here in San Diego later today! Yes, it rains in San Diego... I don't know who said that it's always sunny and hot here. It actually gets really cold, like today the high is only 60 degrees= FREEZING!

Shout out to all of you that are reading this but are too "shy" to start you own blog. I know you are out there, because I myself read everyone's blogs and looked around for almost 3 weeks until I decided to start one. Even if you don't want to start a blog, at least sign up to follow your favorite ones so that you can leave comments and ask questions!

Well, happy Sunday to everyone. That's it for now (I told you my posts would be short).

Much love....

Cowabunga.... here we go!!

Here we go!!! I am so excited, mostly for this blog, and oh yea, for my surgery too! I’m brand new to blogging, but I do consider myself pretty technology savvy, that’s why I can’t believe how hard it is to figure this blog out. I can’t figure out how to center my logo (up top) for example, and I did my ‘weight ticker’ but when I tried to copy the URL, it kept saying “illegal code” or something like that. Argh! IF ANYONE CAN HELP WITH ANY OF THIS, SHOOT ME A COMMENT J
So about me; let’s see… my name is Brooke, I’m 26 and live in San Diego with my husband and my toddler boy, I’m 237 pounds which is the heaviest I’ve ever been (except when I was pregnant 2 years ago I reached 245).  Read my “About Me” section for more info.
My reason for doing this blog is because I’ve been reading all of yours and just L-O-V-E them!! I find them very informative and helpful. BUT, I was having a hard time relating to a lot of them for various reasons, so then I decided to start one and maybe some other people that have more in common with me will sign on and start a blog… you will learn more about me as I post!
Surgery Talk: Like, I’m sure most of you, I’ve tried everything… all the diet pills, personal trainers, Weight Watchers, Atkins Diet, South Beach Diet, cleanses, no carbs, the “moon diet” (don’t even ask!), and even lipo!! So, since my biggest problem is portion control, I think the band is a perfect match for me. I love to work out, and I don’t crave any sort of food neither do I snack throughout the day, but I just eat too much when I do eat! Here in Southern California the 1-800-GET-THIN ads are everywhere, so I called, went in for a seminar and now I am set for my surgery January 2012 (exact day TBA). My insurance requires 3 months from the date of seminar, and 2 sleep studies (one done this week already), 3 meetings with a nutritionist, one endoscopy (next week) and a couple of basic doc visits. It’s actually all pretty easy and everything (all pre & post-op appts, and surgery) is covered by my insurance! All I have to pay is the deductible of $1,000!! I couldn’t believe this, last year when I needed chest x-rays they were going to charge me $500, so just a thou for surgery and all that goes with it… heck ya!
So here we go….  I promise to keep my blog interesting and exciting with new stories, and not have all posts be as long as this one… jeeez!
Peace and surf to all…
